Purrfect Paws is a mobile app designed to support cat owners in caring for their feline companions. From health records and appointment reminders to playtime alerts, the app brings everything a cat parent needs in one space. Because cats aren’t just pets, they’re royalty. And they deserve the purrfect assistant.
Research
Secondary research examined the gap between cat and dog care, highlighting how misunderstandings about cats’ behavior and needs can create barriers to appropriate care.
Three themes informed the product concept:
- Subtle signs of illness. Cats often hide pain, making behavioral changes easy to overlook.
- Stress around vet visits. Preparing for appointments and finding cat-friendly care can be challenging.
- The “low-maintenance” myth. Perceptions of independence can lead owners to underestimate cats’ need for play, routine, and preventive care.

Product Concept and UI
Purrfect Paws brings together educational guidance, care management, and connected tools to support everyday cat care, with features informed by research.
The home screen provides general care guidance, from information on household hazards and common cat myths to help finding specialized feline veterinarians.
Each cat’s profile provides a dedicated space to organize their individual care, combining practical features such as health records with sentimental touches like a paw-print keepsake.
Visual Direction
The visual identity balances softness with a bold, quirky, and slightly irreverent personality, capturing the playful nature of cats and the unique bond they share with their owners. This approach shaped the creative direction across the logo, color palette, typography, and photography.
Prototypes
The prototype explores navigation between care topics, cat profiles, and appointment planning. A floating navigation bar provides access to key areas while keeping the main content visible.
Next Steps
Further development would focus on testing whether owners can find and use features without assistance, and whether their placement on the home screen or within individual cat profiles matches users’ expectations. These findings would guide adjustments to the app’s structure and navigation before expanding the concept.
